The sound of DC returns to NYC!!

The indigenous sound of Washington, DC better known as Go-Go Music has mostly thrived in Washington and the surrounding areas, however it's had a greater influence in modern music and hip-hop culture than a lot of people realize. On Tuesday, May 17th, The JoGo Project will be hosting a Go-Go Jam Session at Club Bonafide in NYC!! If you live in New York and have heard of Go-Go music but never had the chance to experience it live, don't miss this opportunity!!!

JoGo Back at H Street Festival!

Last year, H Street Festival was one of our first performances outside of a Strathmore-related venue -- the band was birthed at the Strathmore Mansion, with follow-up performances at the Outdoor Concert Series as well as Strathmore's new venue, AMP. However, a year later The JoGo Project has built up quite the resume having performed at the Kennedy Center twice, the Funk Parade, and the unveiling of a creative piece of art commissioned by the DC Council of Arts & Humanities. Not to mention the special guests we've had from the band -- Warren Wolf, Joseph Webb, Go-Go veteran Frank Sirius. And each performance gets stronger, and stronger!

We hope you will join us this September 19th, for what is sure to be a smokin' set of Jazz, Go-Go, and much more! More details to come, so stay tuned...

The JoGo Project will be returning to the Kennedy Center in June!

After a hot performance at the Kennedy Center's Millennium Stage in November (CLICK HERE to watch), The JoGo Project will be returning on JUNE 8th, but this time as a part of the DC Jazz Festival! Acclaimed jazz writer and producer Willard Jenkins was recently appointed the new Artistic Director of the DCJF, and to start he has initiated a new series of concerts on the Millennium Stage called the Discovery Series. The Discovery Series will present several local emerging groups and artists, and we are thrilled to be a part of it. We will be featuring guest Vibraphonist Warren Wolf as well, so you won't want to miss this!
